Apr 18, 2020 This is the continuation of our quest to a bring a college basketball national championship to Western Illinois University in the greatest simulated sports game ever made, College Hoops 2K8. Early in the Legacy mode, recruiting 3-star World recruits is a great way to get decent players. Hi - I've been looking to buy College Hoops 2k8 for Xbox 360, but can't find it anywhere for a reasonable price (less than $100). I found College Hoops 2k7 for $30, is it worth getting 2k7 instead or should I keep looking for 2k8 and be willing.
Can you join in 2K7 (or 2K8 for that matter)?I'm not sure if I understand your question completely. If you are asking about taking an independent team in Open Legacy and eventually joining a conference (i.e. Like Pac-10), I don't know the answer to this.If you are asking about taking over a team in closed legacy and moving up the ranks, this definitely happens. A coach must stay a minimum of 2 seasons with any team in a closed legacy. I've found (through my own legacies and simmed seasons) that 30+ victories over two years will result in some sort of job offer (although maybe another small conf school). 40+ victories will almost guarantee a move up to a mid-major conference.

50+ victories could land a prestigious mid-major spot (i.e. Gonzaga or Nevada) that was opened up due to coach move or retirement. In 2k7, I had two legacies. The first started with Morehead State earning 49 victories over the first two seasons and two NCAA appearances with the second trip extending into the elite eight. My coach was offered the job at Nevada with Mark Fox moving on to a prestigious major college position. However, due to some slider issues, my Nevada team was averaging 120+ points per game and this became very boring very quickly. After adjusting the sliders, I started a new legacy with a much more difficult team to coach, Texas Southern. With the Tigers, I won the SWAC both of the first two seasons, but was eliminated in the opening game of each SWAC tourney. The team did make two appearances in the NIT but was blown out both times.
After the second season, my coach had 40 victories and moved up to Indiana State (it seemed that Indiana State was available to any coach that earned a promotion according to posts on these boards). The Nevada job was available again, but my coach didn't qualify for it this time.
I am just about to end my second season with the Sycamores, averaging 20 victories per season still.I don't know if this answers your question or not. I can tell you, the more challenging legacy (i.e.
Texas Southern/Indiana State) has also been much more enjoyable to play throughout. If you are able to go 14-0 for two seasons through the Big West in a closed legacy, you certainly will get a promotion to a mid-major. I meant to say 'can you join conferences', like they do in the NCAA Football series. I'd like to stay at Riverside if its possible to join another conference like the Pac-10, but if not, then I think I might have to jump ship at the first good offer to come along. So I guess my question is more like the first one you posed, but not so much with an independent team. Would you normally have to be an independent team? I think someone said on the NCAA board that you only get offered to join a conference if there is another team in the conference that really sucks and is expendable.

No teams can change conferences like that. You can only change schools as a coach. I see, thanks for the info. Do you know if you can join a conference if you're an independent?Hmm. I've never tried, but I think when you set up your legacy, you can customize conferences and setup the teams in each one the way you want. It's just a guess, and I'd have to check to make sure.EDIT: I've just tried the customize conference feature, and you can swap any team with any team.
This makes it so that you can swap any independent with any team in any conference. At least in 2K7. I doubt that 2K8 would be any different.
